When I was growing up I knew I wanted to help people. I didn’t just want to make their lives better I wanted to make a positive impact on society. However I never really had a clear picture what that would look like, until high school. In my first computer science class I learned how to code “Hello world” which did not encapsulate my attention but the pride and joy I felt writing my first application was overwhelming. It boggled my mind that only a few lines of code could accomplish a simple task such as return the amount of change a customer received in such an efficient manner. That spark and curiosity eventually motivated me towards pursuing a career in Software Engineering. Through school, co-op, working for Deloitte, and via several client engagements I have learned how to become a quick learner, very adaptable, work with a variety of individuals to solve new, and complex problems in a fast paced environment. So now, in the industry, this passion of learning and wanting to make a difference still continues to drive that fire inside me. My hard work and eagerness to learn has continued into me obtaining my Rapid Developer certification in Mendix and working towards my AWS Cloud Practioner. My specialties include C, SQL, Python, Java, Mendix, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Java Swing. While also learning how to take part in an agile environment, learn how to build and test system integration and API.
