This is passion project where my co-host @Tane Whitehead and I invite guests from around the country and the world to talk to us about their story, their passion and to share their lived experiences. Each of this episodes is geared to leave the listener with another perspective to look at the world from.

In this role I have the pleasure of working alongside my Co-Convenor to oversee the running of Hands On at Otago program. This program invites 400 15/16 year olds to attend a camp in Dunedin for seven days. They are introduced to a an academic and social program. in this role we get to chair a committee of 22 people to ensure this program is a success.

• Visit schools and other venues for the purpose of advising and informing potential students, their parents and members of the public about University courses and other aspects of University life.• Participate in marketing and promotional seminars, forums, information sessions, conferences and other activities as appropriate.• Organise promotional events for prospective students, parents and careers advisers as required. • Monitor educational, political and social developments likely to impact upon the University, and advise the Head of Schools’ Liaison accordingly.• Inform and advise the Head of Schools’ Liaison on matters pertaining to secondary qualifications and University Entrance.• Assess the academic standards of applicants for Discretionary Entrance and advise the designated University authority accordingly.• Serve on University Admissions Committees.• Advise new, intending, transferring and returning students on course planning and degree requirements, either in group situations or in individual interviews.• Maintain the factual accuracy of the content of the Undergraduate Prospectus and other promotional material as required.• Inform Careers Advisers, Guidance Counsellors and other schools’ personnel of matters pertaining to the University and maintain good working relations with school Principals.• Maintain co-operative links with the Liaison Officers of other New Zealand Universities.

A member of the teaching team that delivered a summer school course on Social Media. This paper was taught in a paperless environment with the emphasis on trying to use Social Media tools to enhance learning. The class cohort was made up of students that were starting University to those completing their PhD's

As a tour guide I was an ambassador for the University of Otago. I was often the first person spoken to on campus, the role is to provide positive reinforcement about studying at the University. I had to adapt to each group, answer questions honestly. Group sizes would range from one student to twenty in a group. The role of this position was to ensure that on completion of the tour the students and families were comfortable and happy in adding the University of Otago as a potential place to study.

My thesis is investigating the role of Social Media technologies has in the sharing of health information in these closed and open networks. It is investigating how and why users choose to share particular pieces of health information on these networks.

Part of the teaching team that taught a first year paper in the department of Information Science. The Paper, BSNS106, was/is part of the core curriculum in the BCom at the University of Otago thus every BCom student had to study this paper. I was involved in the compyter lab side of the paper. This involved delivering a quick presentation on the work that would be covered in the lab that session, then monitoring and ensuring students understood the tasks at hand. Lab groups ranged from 20 students to 60, with multiple sesisons a week. There was also a grading component to this paper.

Working with the Disability Information and Support team during the examination periods to ensure students with any disability where able to sit thier exams in conditions that would ensure that their disablity would not affect their exam. This role would have me working with individual students or with groups of upto 5 students.

Co-ordinator and main contact point for students undertaking a Post Graduate paper in Health Informatics. This was a distance taught paper, with students based across New Zealand. All students were already qualified medical practioners.

In this role I plan, prepare and facilitate sessions where I teach coaching techniques and NLP tools on a weekly basis to two groups. One group are doing the basic training to become coaches over 8 weeks and the other group are doing the advanced course to become NLP practitioners over 10 weeks. The size of the group ranges from 20 to 300. All sessions run by Zoom with participants from all over the world.

I was responsible to the Head of College in the effective and efficient provision ofa collegiate experience for the Residents and wider associated community. Core to this is the was the collaborative oversight of academic and student experience support. During periods on none occupancy of the College, I assisted with the promotion of the college facilities. Two major groups that I worked with during the off season were the Armed Offenders Squad training and the crew/cast/team filming Wolverine.In this role I Developed an atmosphere of academic excellence in the College in a safe and effectiveenvironment;Provided academic and pastoral advice and mentoring to a CollegeResidents Supported the culture and values of the University in reference to residential collegiatelife;Co-ordinated and developed the College’s academic, pastoral care and eventsprogrammes;Was actively involved in leading tutorial programs at the College or assisting other Colleges;Had high level of liaisons with academic departments around scholastic matters;Assisted in the provision of professional, strategic and administrative support andleadership to create an effective organisational culture which supports the servicedelivery model;Assisted with the selection, housing, safety and support of the College Residents andGuests;Developed and maintained effective relationships with Stakeholders such as SeniorUniversity staff in order to align the collegiate services with the University’s academic,pastoral and recruitment goals;Maximised technology opportunities to meet the College’s needs – we were the first College at the University to provide a Wi-Fi solution for residents;Adhered to all legislative requirements, including but not limited to Health and Safetyand Privacy legislation.In this position I had direct Supervision of circa 15 FTE staff.
