Under the guidance of the SELCO Foundation, led by a UMass Lowell alum Harish Hande, the planning phase for Global Ecosystem Hubs for Sustainable Energy (GEHSE) has begun.The SELCO Foundation and VE seek to conceptualize and implement a knowledge platform, based on discoveries from others working in parts of the developing South Asia and Africa. The Global Hubs platform aims to position the UN Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG 7), to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all, as critical catalyst for a sustainable and equitable change for all across multiple sectors, including health, agriculture, and educationGlobal hubs will function as an umbrella organization capable of creating, supporting, and linking multiple “Regional Hubs” across Africa and Southeast Asia. The idea of the Global Ecosystem Hubs is to create connections, facilitate productive transfers of local knowledge, local expertise and networks and to catalyze implementation of poor-centric sustainable energy solutions.While it is important to provide solutions that work and respect the context of the region the SELCO Foundation believes factors of poverty, such as geographic isolation, political tension, and undeveloped supply chains, are similar globally. Because of this, findings and programs that work in North Eastern India could be used in Tanzania and vice versa.

Procurement of Projects and Offices:• Prepare, publish, and manage tenders, request proposals, and proceedings, reconcile billing reports, and purchase orders.• Ensure compliance with Odisha’s general financial rules and office compliances.FPOs Project Financial Development:• Analyze financial data, conduct business analysis, and propose business in and outflow strategies.• Oversee foreign trade and financial litigations of FPOs.Financial Modeling:• Develop business financial models and create detailed project reports (DPRs).• Cost products, conduct a cost-benefit analysis, and develop cost-reduction strategies.FPO Business Compliances:• Ensure FPO business compliance and maintain their books of accounts.• Develop a compliance tracker to monitor legal compliance on a quarterly basis.Business Tracking:• Develop a business tracker to monitor daily operations and generate a monthly report with a profit and loss statement, including sales sheets.SHGs Financial Literacy:• Conduct financial literacy programs and books of accounts training to Self Help Groups for maintaining business records.Product Costing:• Calculate the price of the Millet-based product prepared by the Self-Help Groups under the Odisha Millet Mission.

• Involved in proposal development, specifically in budget preparation, financial projection, and cost-benefit analysis with other team members.• Implemented Women Empowerment projects in partnership with Class-A NagarPalika, providing livelihood promotion activities for rag-pickers such as waste-to-best products, floor mill, sewing, kitchen gardening, boutiques, and salon.• Implemented the source segregation awareness project as a pilot phase in Class-A Nagarpalika, which focused on educating the community about the importance of segregating waste at the source. The project's success has led to plans for replication in other Nagarpalikas.• Conducted Skill Development projects in partnership with Industrial Training Institute (ITI) through industrial linkage cell, providing opportunities for internship or apprenticeship in various sectors including GIDC, paper mills, plastic recycling units, BPO services, government sanitation departments, medical colleges for better student opportunities in Gandhinagar. Planning to collaborate with a Dehradun-based organization for expanding the placement cell at the international level.

Institutional Engagement: - PM collaborates with Ahmedabad Cantonment Board (ACB - Ministry of Defence), and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) – Plastic Waste Management (PWM) for Solid Waste Management (SWM) and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).Economical Implementation: - An Entrepreneurship Model of scrap shop owned and managed by rag-pickers creating backward and forward linkages (backward linkage include bind of waste generation sources such as four to five star hotels crown plaza, lemon tree, Narayani heights, societies adani shantigram especially meadows apartment, Parshwanath Atlantis Park, market shops, water supplier factories Aava, Clear. Forward linkage includes tieups with recyclers Poonam Polymers, recycling hub, and local scrap dealers to make it selfsustainable. In middle the production process of waste is carried out on segregation, bundling, bailing and shredding).Social Implementation: - Self-help Group (SHGs) Credit linkage with State Bank of India (SBI), Canara Bank and Financial training on Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP).Licensing: - Lead the licensing process of Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) for Plastic Waste Management Unit.
