Oversee and manage the implementation of anticipatory action programs (Nepal Flood: Simplified EAP, Resilieance NCD in Disaster prone area of Nepal) , particularly for floods across selected regions of Nepal.Coordinate with stakeholders, including local governments, Red Cross partners, and humanitarian organizations, to ensure the effective integration of anticipatory actions into disaster risk management plans.Liaise with relevant government departments (e.g., Ministry of Home Affairs, NDRRMA, Department of Hydrology and Meteorology) to strengthen early warning systems and the integration of anticipatory action into national and local disaster management frameworks.Support the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), trigger models, and anticipatory action framework in flood-prone regions.Represent NRCS in national, regional, and international forums, workshops, and meetings on anticipatory action and disaster risk management.Lead training sessions and workshops for NRCS staff, volunteers, and local stakeholders on anticipatory action processes, including early warning communication, preparedness measures, and emergency response.Support to build the capacity of local governments and community-based organizations to implement anticipatory actions and support disaster risk reduction efforts.Monitor the implementation of anticipatory actions and evaluate their effectiveness in reducing disaster impacts on vulnerable communities.Support the NRCS to formulate the AA framework compatible with the National Framework. Document best practices and lessons learned to improve future anticipatory actions and generate the evidence to develop the full phase of EAP.Advocate for policy changes and increased investment in anticipatory action at the national, provincial, and local levels.Ensure that resources for anticipatory actions are pre-positioned and accessible when required.
