About Pramod Subedi
Hello, and Welcome to my profile.I am currently a Lecturer at the School of Biochemistry and Chemistry at La Trobe University. My primary responsibility is to educate the next generation of scientists through both teaching and research. I have nearly four years of postdoctoral experience in structural biology at La Trobe University and the University of Melbourne, focusing on bacterial virulence. This experience has given me a strong foundation and a unique perspective in my current teaching role.In addition to my academic role, I serve as the Biochemistry Convenor for the Victorian branch of the Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists (AIMS). With pathology being a closely related field to my work, I aim to engage with colleagues in laboratory medicine, contributing to and continuously updating my knowledge in this area.My ultimate goal is to leverage my research background to enhance my teaching, ensuring that my students receive the most up-to-date and comprehensive education possible. I believe in continuous learning and am open to connecting with others to expand our collective knowledge.

Postdoctoral ResearcherLa Trobe University Feb 2021 - Nov 2021Melbourne, Victoria, AustraliaAs a Research Officer within the group led by Prof. Begoña Heras in the Department of Biochemistry and Genetics, I was responsible for examining how a group of bacterial redox-active enzymes and autotransporter proteins contribute to bacterial fitness and pathogenicity along with increasing antibiotic resistance. The project mainly builds onto my previously published work (PMID: 33607928) investigating the functional and structural diversity of the thioredoxin-like proteins in bacteria. This multidisciplinary project involved molecular techniques such as gene cloning, mutagenesis, protein engineering, biochemistry, biophysics, microbiology approaches and protein crystallography.
