As part of my stint with Barclays, I have worked with Investment Banking (Barclays Capital) arm of Barclays as well as with Retail Banking (Barclays Technology Centre India) arm. Over span of my 8+ years with Barclays, I have been able to receive considerable amount of knowledge of Credit Risk, Regulatory & Sanctions and Middle Office (Transaction Database) Applications. Customer/Trade/Real-Time Sanctions/AML :Sanctions & AML set of applications include standard integrated solutions implemented using Oracle Enterprise Data Quality (OEDQ) Server & Actimize to screen all individual/corporate customers/transactions or trades concerning Barclays group. These set of applications hold one of the highest visibility in Retail Banking arm of Barclays as it helps in avoiding regulatory penalties and mitigating reputational risk for Barclays. Implemented under KYC norms and closely monitored by Financial Services Authority (UK), these applications hold one of the most challenging deadlines for implementation and support.TDB :Transaction Database (TDB) is central repository of all trades done at Barclays Capital. It is golden source for all trading transactions. Apart from producing numerous scheduled reports and adhoc reports, major task of TDB is to reconcile data received from trading systems (For eg. SUMMIT, Commodities IT) and Settlement Systems (For eg. IMPACT, Platinum). This reconciled data is sent to downstream systems in agreed format.

Under Credit Risk group of applications, Barclays Capital manages its credit exposure to corporate entities through set of applications like Eagle (Using Monte Carlo Simulation), Pre-Deal Check and CRXM (Credit Risk Exposure Measurement). Due to nature of business and ongoing financial issues in the market, Credit Risk has got added importance in the world of Investment Banking.
