I am a doctoral researcher at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, and a visiting researcher at the University of Eastern Finland, Finland. My PhD focuses on the development of sophisticated Deep Learning techniques for reliable automatic sleep stage classification.I am honoured to have received the prestigious Richard Jago Memorial Prize for 2022 from UQ, recognizing my PhD thesis progression and contributions to the field. Currently, I also serve as the Chief Technical Officer at Span IT Solutions, a Sri Lanka-based company that I co-founded.Prior to my current roles, I worked as a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, and gained valuable industry experience as a former Software Engineer at WSO2, where I was employed from December 2017 to April 2019.I hold a Bachelor's degree with First-Class Honours in Computer Engineering from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. My research interests revolve around Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and the practical applications of Deep Learning techniques in Sleep Research.
