Digital Transformations Office (DTO) within Early Clinical Development (ECD)

- Led a team of 6 lab technicians to ensure delivery of quality results to clients in a timely manner.- Established department-wide engineering tests as part of scaling efforts for the next-gen product using appropriate change control.- Initiated and led team’s transition from paper to electronic GEMBA significantly improving KPI metrics tracking.- Drove multiple aspects of evaluation project of sensors on CGM pig explants end-to-end, involving script development and debugging, code validation design, quantitative and qualitative data analyses using MATLAB and Python, visualization techniques using JMP, experiment-scheduling, and presenting observations to cross-functional teams for data-driven decision making.

- Analyzed experimental data trends and reported conclusions on multiple generations of Dexcom’s continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) product in the form of emails, reports, and presentations for data-driven decision making across R&D, operations, and manufacturing departments.- Mentored fellow team members on different types of mechanical, electrochemical, and electrical tests, test method validations, gauge R&Rs, and associated lab equipment.

- Developed, optimized, executed and troubleshot in-house high-throughput TR-FRET and ELISA assays using a variety of automated liquid handling systems and workstations for protein characterization and quantification in support of bioprocess efforts.- Collaborated with domestic and international CROs to manage over 200 outsourced in vivo pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) studies in support of multiple pipeline projects in research and early development.- Investigated drug candidates administered in a given study, recognized project needs and identified the suitable bio-analytical assay or combination of assays to deliver relevant decision-making results to collaborators.- Independently managed and streamlined sample shipments of all outsourced projects via timely communication with stakeholders, acquiring appropriate documentation and enforcing optimal scheduling protocols to ensure a 25% quicker turnaround of results.- Performed review on CRO returned data and carried out standard practice in data visualization and assay performance metrics by leveraging internal laboratory informatics management systems (LIMS) and historical data.

- Managed all operations of the ISPE Student Chapter at UC San Diego by leading a team of 20 board members to organize professional development workshops and networking events that connected 500+ students with the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and biomedical device industries.- Achieved an unprecedented 100% retention rate of organization board members and thereby established a strong foundation for subsequent academic years.

- Served as an undergraduate TA for UCSD’s Intro to Bioengineering course.- Led weekly laboratory sections of 35 students.- Familiarized underclassmen with core bioengineering principles and techniques such as 3D printing and signal acquisition in a hands-on laboratory setting.- In class projects worked on included 3D-printing specific bone components from CT scans, conducting mechanical tests on 3D-printed models, running ECGs and EEGs, and performing MATLAB analyses.

- Served as a Discussion Leader for UCSD’s First Year Experience Course.- Led weekly discussions for a class of 25 students.- Aided the transition of freshmen into a college environment, encouraging teamwork and facilitating collaboration between Professor and students.- Gained valuable teaching experience and professional skills.

- Worked on project exploring how RIAM expression in T cells is an essential factor in Type I Diabetes development.- Performed PCRs, DNA Purifications, Gel Extractions, Gel Electrophoresis, Fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS), cell cultures.

- Collaborated with the Engineering team to calibrate devices such as chlorine meters, temperature charts, thermocouples, etc. in laboratory and manufacturing workspaces of the company while following cGMP and FDA compliant documentation procedures. - Developed user-friendly methods (i.e. flowcharts, PowerPoint Presentations, etc.) and SOPs to help map the daily calibration procedures from a legacy database to a cloud-based database system that increased department efficiency.

Mentored incoming international freshmen over 7 weeks. Planned events, weekly discussions and served as a direct link between students and staff.

Shadowed doctors at work, observed their interaction with patients and their usage of different medical equipment while helping the clinic out with filing and making posters.
