Responsible for oil and freight operations for the various trading desks. Working alongside traders/trading managers to optimize the deal portfolio to provide commercial benefits to the business. Dealing with cargo and freight counter-parties, terminals and vessels on a regular basis regarding all post-deal activities ensuring all necessary operational information is passed on in good time and documentary requirements are met. Ensuring that all relevant operations and obligations arising from the contract/charter party are carried out, and that any necessary requirements are compiled with achieving the quality, time, costs and profit requirements as established by the contract and trader.

Ensuring vessels are operated in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner, ensuring compliance with Class and Statutory and Company regulations. Dealing with oil and freight counter- parties, terminals and vessels on a regular basis regarding post-deal activities, ensuring all necessary operational information is passed in good time and documentary requirements are met. Appointing independent inspectors, expeditors and ship agents Liaising with finance for LC matters, providing with timely accurate data and documentation to facilitate smooth invoicing and payment for cargoes. Liaising with Charterers to ensure smooth operations, avoid supply disruption and minimize demurrage costs. Maintain operational optimization by adding value to trading strategy and minimize losses or costs Lodging necessary claims on Buyers/Sellers/Ship Owners as per contract /charterparty.Scrutiny/Negotiation and settlement of claims received from counter parties. Experienced in both containerized and bulk shipments of refined products. Issuing contracts and/or checking and countering incoming contracts Establishing and maintaining good and professional working relationships with buyers, sellers, terminals and other internal and external counterparties

 Preparing vessel position report. Ensuring that vessels are traded within provisions of Charter Party and International and Local Rules and Regulations. Liaising with Ship- owners, operators, Charterers and Masters and providing them with adequate information with particular emphasis on minimizing costs and trouble-free performance of vessels in port. Liaising with Charterers and Technical Managers with respect to vetting inspections in ports vessel will be calling, checking for cargo compatibility with tank coatings, clearances of vessel with terminals. Liaising with Insurance providers for the AWRP for IWL/JWC breach areasand K&R covers when required and negotiating same to optimum levels for the satisfaction of all interested parties. Liaising with P&I clubs. Assisting brokers and owners with pre fixture questionnaires, bunker quantities and vessels operational capabilities by expediting and collating information flow from vessel and technical managers. Preparing monthly Hire Invoicefor TC out vessels. Preparing Debit notes for expenses incurred by Owners for Charterers account. Communicating with agents for vessel’s chartered in for the PDA and reviewing same prior approving from HOD. Appointment of Agents. Coordinate with accounts department for the payment of PDA. Reviewing final PDA and reconciling accounts. Liaise with Charterers / Master for the clarity in the BL clause as and when required to protest owner’s interests. Preparing Management Information report on a monthly basis for the Management. Preparing monthly Hire Reconciliation Statement and Profit Share Calculations as per agreement for our Chartered out vessels. Assisting with commercial analysis, preparation of company operational and annual reports and Lay Time and Off-hire statements on completion of each voyage.
