I am a Research student in Robotics and Automation at Cardiff University, focusing on designing and developing Vision-Based Tactile Sensing. As an enthusiastic and dedicated researcher, my primary objective is to pioneer cutting-edge methods for achieving advanced tactile sensing through vision-based approaches.Robotics offers an exhilarating field full of challenges and opportunities. My research revolves around enhancing robot perception, striving to empower robots with the ability to understand and interact with their environments more effectively. By developing state-of-the-art object recognition techniques, I aim to equip robots with the skills to identify and interact with diverse objects and entities, making them versatile and adaptable to a wide array of tasks.A particularly fascinating area I explore is Optical Tactile Sensing. By integrating vision-based techniques with tactile sensing, my goal is to create robots that can perceive and comprehend the world using both visual and tactile information. This synthesis of senses will provide robots with a deeper understanding of their surroundings, enabling them to perform delicate and precise tasks that would otherwise be challenging.Another vital aspect of my research is Multimodal Sensing Fusion. I am passionately driven to explore ways of combining data from multiple sensors, including vision and tactile sensors, to enhance robots' overall perception and decision-making capabilities. By leveraging the strengths of each sensing modality and fusing their information, I aim to create more robust and intelligent robotic systems.Being a Research Fellow at Cardiff University grants me access to state-of-the-art facilities and a collaborative research environment that empowers me to push the boundaries of robotics and automation. My ultimate goal is to make significant contributions to the advancement of this field and pave the way for the deployment of intelligent, versatile, and adaptive robots in real-world applications.I am always eager to share my knowledge and collaborate with fellow researchers in the field.
