Prasad Wijesuriya is a dynamic, multi-faceted, experienced Business Executive in the ICT industry. He has over 19 years of experience in the ICT industry. Prasad is the Country Manager for Sri Lanka and Maldives at “SOPHOS” (www.sophos.com) which is a worldwide leader in Cybersecurity. He is entrusted with the responsibilities for creating long lasting partnerships with resellers and end customers while ensuring they are safe from cyber threats. He starts his career as a fulltime journalist joining the editorial of “Lakbima” - a national newspaper of Sri Lanka in 2002. In mid of 2004 he joined with an IT vendor, Kobian Technologies (Pvt) Ltd and served as the Assistant Manager – Business Development until late 2008 leading the marketing arm of business. He then assumed duties as the Head of Sales & Marketing at ABS Information Systems (Pvt) Ltd - a leading software solutions company and he was leading the business operations until June 2012. Before joining with Sophos he was serving as the Senior Manager Solution Sales (Banking and Cybersecurity) at Thakral One Sri Lanka (www.thakralone.com), a multinational corporation headquartered in Singapore.Prasad possesses a very strong track record both academically and professionally. He graduated with the Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Sri Jayawardenepura, and then he obtained Master of Business Studies degree from the University of Colombo. Prasad was the founder General Secretary of the Alumni Association of University of Colombo, Faculty of Graduate Studies. He is a Fellow of Institute of Management of Sri Lanka (IMSL). Prasad was elected as a Council Member of Institute of Management of Sri Lanka (IMSL) in 2011, and then re-elected to the council as the Director of Studies served from 2013 to 2015, and presently holding the position of Chairperson of the IT Sub Committee of council, and also serving as a member of the board of study of IMSL. Prasad is a Certified Member of Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing.Prasad makes his way with a career objective to be in a strategic and executive leadership position in a multi-national organization that would provide him with an environment full of challenges together with new landscapes of growth and development.
