During my time there I was working in the Accelerator Test Facility as a mechanical engineering intern and had the following duties:- Worked on a design of a 120x24x20 sized vacuum chamber- Designed the vacuum chamber to house compression gratings and mirrors in precise locations for the carbon dioxide laser pulse, based on the requirements of the laser physicists- Ran finite element analysis on each part of the design to ensure that it followed the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code- Optimized the shape and supports of the design to allow for easy installation and longevity Show less
