- Published two papers geometrically visualizing simple sun-tracker mechanisms for mirror-fields of arbitrary contours- Filed patent application for another, simpler mechanism for mirror-fields of arbitrary contours- Carried out mathematical modelling and computer simulations on various shapes and configurations of concentrators and concentrating systems- Derived mathematical equation for mirror to 'correct' spherical aberration and produce point-focus- Carried out mathematical and extensive computer studies of various (parameterized) shapes of such correcting mirror at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) Mumbai- Have conceptualized many more promising concentrator designs- Seeking partners to develop prototypes for possibe commercialization, possibly with joint IPR. - Headed many top-level strategic planning committees, including those for Citizen’s Charter, Vision Document, and Training Policy for the entire Income Tax department- Formulated crucial statutory ‘tax audit’ process, mandating pre-filing tax audits of large tax-payers by independent accountants, thereby improving compliance and providing tax-payers an indicative assessment of their tax liabilities and allowances- Led Indo-Canadian project team that developed an early-warning system for detection of 'suspect' tax returns. The project resulted in better determination of depatment revenue at risk and serves as a deterrent to tax evasion- Was involved in progressively wider areas of responsibility through career including computerization of tax data and processes and successfully representing Income Tax department in Income Tax Appellate Tribunal.
