At NITI, I am working on India's energy policy. I focus especially on the green transition, and the policy steps that we need to take to achieve it. I am also very interested in power sector policy and the regulation of the power industry, especially distribution. The great thing about NITI is you also get exposure to so many related fields - solar, hydrogen, storage, coal, etc etc.I am an engineer (IIT Bombay) turned economist (Harvard Kennedy School). Prior to NITI, I have been fortunate to work in many interesting areas, both at the operations level and at the strategy/management/policy level. I have worked on microfinance/livelihoods/rural development/water (World Bank, BASIX, Trident Microfinance, Waterlife), insolvency policy (National Institute for Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP), Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India), growth and employment (Rajiv Gandhi Insitute for Contemporary Studies, RGICS). Me and my friends also did some pioneering analytical work on procedural reasons behind judicial delays while working at NIPFP and RGICS.I have written widely, including working papers, book chapters, op-eds, reports, blog posts, etc. I love coding in R and Python, but don't get much time for that nowadays.
