Infinera uses large-scale photonic integrated circuits(PIC) to transmit/receive >100Gbps data across various links per wavelength.I was involved in the development of Infinera high-performance multi-channel Tx Retimer ASIC designwhich operates at an output data rate of 10+Gbps and is used in a pol-mux DQPSK optical transmissionsystem. The function of the ASIC is to retime the jittered data, encode the data in different outputformats like QPSK/DPSK/iQPSK and transmit the muxed data using a low-jitter, high-speed Driver.
