I am working as an Associate Professor in the Mechanical Engineering department at University Institute of Engineering & Technology(UIET), Panjab University(PU), Chandigarh, INDIA. My teaching and research areas of interest include nano-composite polymer materials, mechanical characterization, 5G devices in Healthcare, 3D modeling, rapid prototyping, maxillo/cranio facial medical implants and reconstruction, composite materials for dental implants and dental prosthetics. I have served at the Medical Design Research group, Nottingham Trent University, UK as a Commonwealth Rutherford Post Doctoral Fellow. I am also recipient of the prestigious Teachers Associateship For Research Excellence(TARE) Fellowship funded by SERB, Govt. of India. I am leading Design Innovation Centre(DIC) on Medical Devices & restorative technologies at PU which has been funded by Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India for Rs.200,00,000/-($220,000/-) to develop cost effective and indigenous medical devices and solutions. I have established this centre with a trans-disciplinary team of students and faculty across various engineering disciplines along with teams of dentists and surgeons across various hospitals across the country and worldwide. We have been able to develop and perform clinical trials on various products like transparent dental aligners, maxillo-facial reconstruction procedures and human bite force measuring devices. This centre involves more than 150 engineering students who are highly skilled in these upcoming areas. Presently, I have more than 50 High impact International publications, reputed books and book chapters and several International talks against my name. I have five Indian patents against my name. Currently, I am also holding a position of an Honorary Advisory and Coordinator for Industry 4.0 Projects with Assam Electronics Development Corporation Limited(AMTRON). I am looking for a challenging leadership role for setting up of a similar research and training design innovation centre across the world for developing similar medical devices and solutions.
