My curret job solely focusses on MRI, working on both 1.5T and 3T systems to produce clinical and research work. To play a pivotal role in the Interventional MR Suite. Co-coordinating with the radiologists and the Neuro-consultants to meet the patient needs. Arrange in-patients and general anesthesia MRI procedures.Maintain patient safety data in a central database for future reference.To supervise and advise less experienced radiographers that form the team within which they are working.To use computerised and manual methods of documentation to provide accurate imaging patient records and ensuring the requirements of the Data Protection Act are complied with when handling patient information.To undertake the intravenous injection of contrast media in compliance with the Directorate protocol if required by their role.Participate in Continuing Professional Development and demonstrate a commitment to achieving personal objectives by maintaining a personal record or portfolio and undertakes study in the relevant professional area.To be responsible for the safe use of imaging equipment they are using and report any malfunction of the imaging equipment to the line manager and take appropriate action if the equipment is considered "unsafe".All staff are expected to actively participate in governance activities, to ensure that the highest standards of care and business conduct are in place and working to ensure the Trust operates in an effective, honest and open way. Support research and independent studies and facilitate audit relating to diagnostic imaging.In addition to diagnostic imaging I am involved in the research projects currently running in the department.Study 1 PRION Research and DTI ,fMRI. Study 2 Use of Advanced MRI techniques in Progressive Supra-nuclear Palsy at 3.0TStudy 3 Dementia research.Special Interests:MRI Imaging in Multiple Sclerosis and other neurodegenerative diseases.Spectroscopy, BOLD imaging and Tractography
