Materials Group Leader
CurrentCurrently, my research mainly focuses on large scale synthesis and solar water splitting of nano and micro materials. Photo- and electrochemistry of the earth abundant, environmentally friendly first row transition metal perovskites, spinel oxides and inorganic-organic hybrid materials. We work also on bulk and thin films where first the Sn rich ITO’s are produced by single source precursor. Also the metal oxide is coated on the conducting surface of Silicon, ITO and FTO’s and then the electrodes are tested for electrochemistry of oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) for the renewable energy technology.
Post Doctoral Research Associate (Dfg - Fellowship)
Research interests were mainly focussed on the synthesis by solution based, solvothermal, supercritical high temperature and high pressure methods as well as high temperature solid state techniques on the novel inorganic-organic hybrid materials, mainly with Zintl ions of group 14 and 15 elements and chalocogenidometalte materials and their structure property relationship.
Post Doctoral Research Fellow (Max Planck Fellowship)
The research goal was to synthesize the open framework phosphate and borophosphate materials and study their crystal structures, crystal habit and other properties. A new class of tetrahedral framework structures with topologies similar to aluminosilicates was synthesized and the shape developments and the habits of helical materials were systematically investigated.
Young Scientist (Max Planck Scholarship)
The research aim was to study the structure property relations in Alkali metal open framework borophosphates. Several novel materials were synthesized and their properties were studied systematically.

The interesting electrical and optical properties exhibited by conducting polymers make them an attractive choice for various technological applications. Here we carried out research on the thermal stability of Lewis acid doped polyaniline that exhibited remarkable stability against thermal aging unlike protonated polyaniline which show rapid degradation under air.
