Build data pipelines to extract/ingest data from multiple sources within the organization. These databases include DB2, Hive, Oracle, etc..Perform reconciliation on the data to meet the business requirements. PySpark and Bash are used to extract and transform the data. PySpark adds good value in faster processing where data can be accommodated into a data-frames and also loaded to a temporary view for complex SQL processing while dealing with multiple large files coming into the process.HiveQL performance tuning.Schedule CRON jobs to run scripts in the desired order. Customize the scheduling to have the right predecessor and successor and also time based scheduling.Store the reconciled data on a much faster database (preferably MEMSQL) so that data is easily accessible for analytics and visualization. Jethro DB is currently used as its an analytical DB and provides easy integration with Tableau.Build visualization and contracts on the reconciled data helping business understand the trends and get proper insights of the activities for any month or quarter.Perform Continuous Integration(CI) using STASH, Bit Bucket., where all the codes and schedules are committed and push on regular basis. Use Jenkins to perform the build to generate a TAR file containing all the components required to be deployed.Use XLR (XEBIA LABS Release) for Continuous Delivery (CD). This includes creating the high-level blocks of code in case of existing code. Also create the test conditions that would have to be executed to ensure error free code.Schedule any new process in a very effective way not to impact existing critical process. For example, if long running batch; schedule it towards off peak business hours.Discuss with Business and offshore team members on the daily or weekly progress to have everyone on the same page. Divide and assign work to offshore team members, monitor their progress and help in case of any concerns.Perform the code walk through with the entire team to make sure the code is efficient and with no errors.Support the SIT testing with the integrating teams. Also conduct SIT and UAT in case the project is driven from my team.Create implementation plan with details steps of task for each team member to deploy the project. Have timely calls to determine the deployment status to ensure smooth life cycle of the project.Constantly look for opportunities to improve the process by implementing re-engineering ideas to reduce the overall operational cost of the system. Learn new technologies and find use cases for the same in our system to upgrade performance.
