This required the test server to be setup from scratch as listed below:• HW configurations (CPU, DIMM, HDD, RAID Controller, NIC and FC PCIe adapters), • FW updates of various components (CPLD, BMC, BIOS and other available adapters)• Setting up external storage (FC & iSCSI) • OS Installation on local storage (Linux, Windows, VMWare ESX & ESXi using Dell Utilities or manually)• Installing enterprise applications on local or external storage.• Configuring IXIA and LoadRunner tools to generate traffic to the enterprise applications connected through the server and stress test the server for 120 continuous hours.• Capture the various server and application parameters and analyze the performance.This was a fabulous experience in handling various Dell PowerEdge variants, various Dell Utilities along with IXIA & LoadRunner tools.
