FounderUtthaan Feb 2011 - May 2012Utthan is a community of students of various Kanpur based Engineering Colleges who are involved in teaching underprivileged children of Panki, Kanpur; the group focuses on using playful techniques/alternative teaching methods to facilitate learning. The community accepted donations(in-kind) from locals and sold it to slum residents at significantly cheaper prices. The cash collected was used to fund the education of the kids from that slum.I was fortunate to have started this community in 2011 along with a few batchmates, and I am proud that this community is super-active and is bringing in the change in its own small ways.
