Lead IT Infrastructure solution designer and demand shaper interacting with clients in India and abroad. This supported NIIT’s SI and operational support activities across the globe. Was a key member of the Solution design and bid pursuit team for almost all large bids undertaken within the 2010 – 2013 timeframe.Major highlights :Successfully led the IT Infra solution design on a major public sector bid valued at over $65Mn. The offered solution was adjudged to be T1 and L1 in the tender evaluation. The offered solution was comprised of products from 10 separate OEMs and upstream integrators.Successfully led the IT Infra solution design on a major UK Private sector bid valued at over $30Mn. This was the first large scale deployment of Solid state storage in the private sector within the UK.Participated in the successful outsourcing deal worth $85Mn. The offered solution involved transition of the entire print Ad designing function from the US to India.Responsibilities :Lead technical architect with responsibility for Infra led pre-sales. Was responsible for all new infrastructure projects undertaken by the company. This included complete IT estate within 3 software development facilities in different parts of the country and connecting them the NIIT network. This work also included any new customer specific build outs for dedicated development centers (DDCs).Reporting to the CIO and responsible by a team of 7 IT staff.Some of the key activities performed were.Network Build outs – Adding 1000 new seats to the NIIT network. Design and implementation of the enterprise intranet using best practices and cost efficient technologies. Network build outs for several of NIIT’s larger customers’ Dedicated Development Centers.Network infrastructure management – Managing the 3500+ connected systems for service delivery to various functions of the enterprise. Asset management, configuration management, network monitoring & control and security surveillance. Developed our own tools and systems for call management and tracking.Y2K and Antivirus management – Antivirus protection was a mandatory exercise for smooth operation of the enterprise. Used in-house tools to deploy and track anti-virus updates. Y2K transition for the company was spearheaded by ICO. This involved preparing a repository of patches and tools to detect and correct any incompatibilities that older systems had. Identifying those assets that simply were not compliant and planning their redundancy.Internet lease circuits management – Provisioning of internet services including bandwidth management, security compliance and monitoring for any network breaches, firewall management.

Worked as developer and later team leader in NIIT’s software group. Was part of a team of 55 developers working on DCOM technologies in a 3 tier ERP application for a large US based company. Was part of the team that went onsite for the implementation and customer acceptance of the product. Also held the role of Software Configuration manager and was in charge of the nightly build process and weekly code drops. In addition to this, was manager for a team of 13 developers whose focus was to manage the last version of the software while the rest of the team moved on to the next version
