About Prashi Jain

I am a collaborative scientist with >12 years of experience in drug discovery, medicinal chemistry and immuno-oncology. My work involved various hit-to-lead identification and development projects as anti-bacterial, anti-HCV, dopamine antagonists and anti-Alzheimer agents. My research is currently focused on immuno-oncology where I identified a specific role of Tregs in cancer biology. I'm also developing cell-based therapies to mitigate tumor growth.I thrive on novelty in research and have always exploited technological advances to accelerate drug discovery in my projects. I complement research with entrepreneurship and am very interested in startup culture. As a core member of our team at the 'Freedom from Cancer startup Challenge' in partnership with The Center for Advancing Innovation (CAI) and MedImmune , I was involved in the due diligence with IP and de-risking of technology/method as prerequisite elements of forming a startup. I am also a part of Fannin Innovation studio as a Therapeutic Intern where I am working with a multidisciplinary team to identify potential leads, identify synthetic challenges and perform market analysis to find a niche for translational applications. My goal is to contribute toward translational research where I can combine my scientific expertise with interpersonal skills and an entrepreneurial spirit to make a direct impact in patients' lives.Core competencies: Adaptability, team building, collaborative work, logical and strategic management, creative thinking, project design, resourcefulness, planning and execution, market analysisTechnical expertise: - Medicinal chemistry: hit to lead identification, SAR, synthesis, process chemistry, fragment based drug discovery, DNA-encoded library technology, parallel synthesis, flow chemistry.- Chemical Biology: Cell based invitro models, Nano-Bret assay, T cell isolation, flow cytometry, RNA seq, qPCR, Western blot, cell culture, ELISA, cytokine assayAreas of expertise: Drug discovery, Medicinal chemistry, Immuno-Oncology
