Prasun Chowdhury has over 35 years of experience, including 30 years in strategy, performance improvement, and business transformation consulting. As a Program Director, he has led engagements creating over $10 billion in value for Fortune 500 and equivalent companies in India, North America, and Europe. Prasun is a leading Theory of Constraints (TOC) practitioner, strategic decision expert and certified leadership coach. He also holds expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, and Service Excellence. Prasun’s clients include Fortune 100 organizations like Philips, Bayer, and General Motors, and major Indian groups such as Tata, RPSG, Aditya Birla, Kirloskar Brothers, Godrej, Max Healthcare, Delhi International Airports, and Ashok Piramal Group. He has mentored many consultants now in senior roles at global firms and has delivered executive education programs for large and mid-sized corporates.Prasun is a life member of the Institute of Directors and TOCICO. He began his career in 1989 at Thermax as an Executive Engineer in marketing, then moved to Wipro Infotech in 1990. In 1993, he joined Bharat Technologies’ strategy team under Dr. V. Krishnamurthy. Later, at Control Group, he led joint ventures with Jacobs Wind Electric and Krupp Mak, and secured equity placement with Morgan Stanley.In 1995, Prasun transitioned to consulting at Eicher Consultancy Services (ECS) and was instrumental in setting up a joint venture with Strategic Decisions Group (SDG), a Silicon Valley strategy firm. He trained in strategy and decision analysis under Professor Ronald Howard of Stanford University.In 2003, Prasun founded Avenir, a boutique consulting firm in India, growing it to over 40 consultants with offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Culiacan, Mexico. He worked closely with Dr. Eli Goldratt, the originator of TOC and author of The Goal. Prasun has led workshops, presented at international forums, and served as visiting faculty at IIM Kolkata, IIT Delhi, Monash University (Australia), IFIM, and the School of Inspired Leadership (SOIL). He has taught strategic decision analysis, Project Management, TOC, Ontological Leadership, and consulting skills.Prasun holds a Master’s in Business Management with distinction from the Asian Institute of Management, Manila, where he topped his class. He also holds an MSc (Hons) in Economics and a degree in Instrumentation Engineering from BITS Pilani. He is based in Delhi NCR.
