Project - DC Interconnection & Swing ProjectVedanta Limited, Jharsuguda has 4 potlines (PL-3, PL-4, PL-5 & PL-6) with 6 units of rectifier system each. The units can provide 72KA of DC current with a rated setpoint of 340KA, wherein 5 units of each potline can also cater to required setpoint of 340KA. During long shutdowns of any unit and due to unforeseen circumstances if another unit goes down then potline has to reduce the load to 280KA with lots of process disturbances and production loss. As per OEM recommendations each unit overhauling must be completed every 5 years, which normally takes 15 days each. So, many a times units will be under overhauling in a distributed manner. The current scenario indicates high business risk for potlines.To execute this project I have carried out the following tasks.1. I have organized Kick-off meeting with partner to know the background of this project. 2. Planning of master sheet on MS-Projects for complete timeline and detailing each micro activity.3. Understood the issues during COVID and debottlenecking of problems related to commercial and financial aspects.4. Mobilization of manpower for carrying out civil, mechanical erection in order to complete the project on time.5. Risk assessment for potline shutdown and activity planning. Project - SCADA upgradation for Potline with advanced features.The present ABB MicroSCADA of 9.3.1 will be upgraded to MicroSCADA 10.1 with new and advanced features for operation. To execute the project I have carried out the following task.• Prepared a proper Scope of Work which included all technical information and changes to be carried out.• Prepare BOQ with partners for change of hardware and software tools.• Discussed in details all requirement of software licenses.• Discussed the changes of software(command procedures, event/time channels, database , trends, SNMP )etc. during FAT.• Completed the installation of hardware and software as per industrial standards

• Planning and effecting preventive, breakdown as well as the routine maintenance schedules of various electrical equipments and instruments to increase up time and equipment reliability.• Working on 400/220/33 KV Switchyard, erection, commissioning, maintenance and operation of 420/245 KV SF6 CB, 11 KV VCB’s and 415V ACBs, 220V DC battery bank maintenance, HT/LT Motors maintenance.• Handling Operation and maintenance of 24 numbers 340KA,1560V DC ABB make high current rectifier system (largest capacity rectifier in India), working with Micro SCADA system installed by ABB for rectifier control.• Rectifier maintenance including control system software (PEC) tuning of different parameters, tuning of transductors, cooling system, DC isolators, regulating & rectifier transformer, rectifier cubicle.• Troubleshooting and testing of electrical machinery covering a wide range of equipments like Power transformers maintenance, EHV equipment testing and health checkup, EHV sub-station accessories maintenance, including maintenance and operation of control and metering panels.• Maintenance of Area distribution sub-stations (11 / 0.415 KV) ranging from 1.25 to 40 MVA.• Condition monitoring techniques like Thermal imaging, vibration analysis.• Diagnostic testing of equipments like Tan delta test of insulators, bushings, winding resistance, Primary injection test of CTs, Oil BDV,Hi-pot test of cables etc.• Disturbance analysis of Electrical protection relays operation on Electrical fault.• Working with PERMIT TO WORK system and LOTO for safe working practice.• Planning, raising technical indents and tenders, follow up with purchase dept. development of reorder point for consumables, inspection & handling of materials & spares for optimized plant availability & downtime reduction using effectively SAP PM,MM Module.• Identifying areas of obstruction/breakdowns and taking steps to rectify the equipments through application of trouble shooting tools like RCA & FMEA

• Worked as Shift Incharge in Rectifier & Switchyard, maintaining work permits for project jobs.• Involved in commissioning of Aluminium potline rectifier system.• Involved in detailed study of switchyard EHT equipments like ICT, Auxiliary transformers, Rectifiers• Involved in various types of Routine testing of field equipments for SAT.• Went to ABB Baroda, for checking FAT of Transformers.
