In my ongoing PhD research, I address the challenge of transitioning the Netherlands to a carbon-free built environment by 2050. This involves strategically replacing natural gas with sustainable heating sources in existing housing stock through the district heating (DH) approach, particularly lower-temperature district heating (LTH). Integrating LTH into existing dwellings presents challenges due to higher heating demands and potential thermal discomfort. To overcome this, I am developing a comprehensive decision-support framework that identifies suitable energy renovation options for different dwellings, assesses feasibility, and provides a decision matrix. This research aims to contribute to the goal of achieving scalable and sustainable energy transitions in the Netherlands.

As a PhD council member at the faculty of architecture and the built environment at TU Delft, I represent the interests of PhD students within the AE+T department. I am committed to promoting a positive and supportive research environment for all members of our community. I work closely with faculty and staff to ensure that the needs and concerns of our PhD students are heard and addressed. In addition to my role on the council, I am also actively engaged in my research within the AE+T department, focusing on renovation solutions for preparing existing dwellings for gas-free heating.

At Physee Technologies, an innovative start-up specializing in coatings, sensors, and solar technologies, I contributed to transforming glass into an energy-producing device for buildings. My role involved preparing technical studies, developing smart window concepts for project facades, creating on-site engineering drawings for five projects, and supporting the sales department through dynamic simulations of smart windows.

As an Assistant Teacher at the Aayojan School of Architecture in Jaipur, I instructed students in building construction, architectural drawing, basic design, and building science. Additionally, I contributed to the preservation of architectural heritage by digitizing 22 heritage building drawings for the college’s heritage cell. My role combined teaching, design, and preservation, enhancing the educational experience for students while preserving architectural history.
