• This was a 12-month year in industry placement of working as a Real-time Software Simulation Engineer team in the Fly-by-Wire (FBW) team.• As part of the FBW team, I was responsible for the delivery of rewriting the A320 and A330 simulated Flight Control Unit (FCU).• This involved working with Airbus data to code logic sheets in C, deriving data from an aircraft FCU on a Full Flight Simulator (FFS) and production of validation documents.• The aim was to reduce future cost of debugging and updates through closer correlation between code and data.• The simulated FCU code will be used by customers on Flight Training Devices (FTDs) and internally on test rigs for at least the next ten years.• I also received training on following company standards to ensure OEM data is managed securely and safely. • I also learned how to work in a DevOps environment. This provided me with the knowledge of breaking down a problem into smaller pieces and make incremental improvements.• I also became familiar with Atlassian Jira, Jira Service Desk and created documents in Confluence.

• I was part of a team that helped designed a UAV which competed at the annual IMechE UAS Challenge at Buckminster.• My role as the Aerodynamics team leader included analysing various aircraft components through hand calculations, constraint diagrams and sizing of aircraft control surfaces.• As the sub-team leader, I was responsible for a group of four people where I had to delegate tasks based on suitability.•I was also responsible for designing a robust test plan which consisted of safety and quality checks.•I attended regular meetings which consisted of my peers in which we reviewed our objectives. By this I further developed my time management and networking skills.
