Mr. Prathapsinghe is a highly experienced and respected Senior Chartered Valuation Surveyor, with over 30 years of experience in Property Valuation, Real Estate Management, and Consultancy. He has been involved in many prestigious positions during his career, including serving with the Department of Valuation in Sri Lanka and serving as the National Project Director for the Post-Tsunami Coastal Rehabilitation Project, which was funded by IFAD and implemented by the Ministry of Fisheries Sri Lanka.In addition to this impressive professional background, Mr. Prathapsinghe has also served on numerous international delegations. For instance, he was selected to lead the Sri Lankan Delegation for Ship for World Youth - 2001 (Nippon Maru) conducted by the Government of Japan. He has also represented the United Nations Food & Agricultural Organization (FAO) Coffee Meeting 2012 as part of a delegation from Sri Lanka, representing his country at an international level. Currently, Mr. Prathap is the Managing Director of Prathap Chartered Valuation & Consultancy Pvt Ltd., where he brings all these valuable experiences together to provide high-quality services related to property valuation and consultancy work.He also served as the Secretary of the RICS Sri Lanka Executive Council from 2018 to 2022. Since then, he has been serving as Senior Vice President of the Council. His role also includes conducting Candidate Assessments for RICS Membership through his capacity as an APC Assessor and training APC candidates as APC Counsellors. Furthermore, Mr. Prathapasinghe’s expertise has seen him being invited multiple times over recent years to various conferences, forums, and discussions on Real Estate Valuation & Development related topics, where he serves either as a panellist, guest speaker, or moderator, with great success, demonstrating his vast knowledge in the subject area. He has made a significant contribution to the industry policymaking and expansion of RICS' presence in Sri Lanka, as well as the South Asian Region.

Post Tsunami Coastal & Rehabilitation & Resource Management Project funded by International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) implemented under the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development. Responsibilities & Duties of PD - Project Director was responsible for the whole project implementation over 7 Districts under five components and it mainly focused on the rapid recovery of assets and essential infrastructure destroyed by Tsunami, including housing, housing amenities, settlement infrastructure, social infrastructure and fisheries roads, community infrastructure, and removal of debris. It applied a flexible community approach and in coordination with other funding sources, it supported recovery and rehabilitation of physical and financial assets of affected groups and communities. The target group included poor rural women and men in tsunami affected communities and targeting was through the type and size of support provided.The project was run over 6 years period at the cost US $ 40 Million. Major works included construction of 2 mini harbours, 4 anchorages, 15 Landing Sites, 850 Houses, Rural Road, and Community Centers etc. construction of Trinco whole sale fish market, construction of Training Center for Ocean University, improvement of sanitary facilities for communities, activities for coastal restoration & resource management, socio economic development activities for livelihood development including 3000 Micro Enterprises and policy support & gender development etc.
