During my 6-week internship with the Traction and Distribution department at Indian Railways, I gained hands-on experience and a comprehensive understanding of the electrical systems that power the rail network. My responsibilities included assisting in the maintenance and inspection of overhead equipment (OHE), substations, and power supply systems. I also participated in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of trains. This internship provided me with valuable insights into the challenges and solutions involved in the electrification and distribution aspects of railway operations, enhancing my knowledge of electrical engineering applications in a real-world context.
