mAXImus:Axis Bank joined forces with Thoughtworks to create Maximus, a digital lending platform designed to tackle a daily avalanche of applications for everything from Personal Loans to Credit Cards and beyond. Each product gets its own pit crew, navigating its journey with a fleet of microservices that turbocharge its performance.I had a front-row seat with two all-star teams. First up, the Credit Cards squad. We built a powerhouse onboarding framework for new customers from Axis partners like Google (GPAY), Airtel, and others. This adaptable, ever-evolving framework ensures smooth integration with new partners, handling a jaw-dropping 300,000 applications monthly from Axis’ bustling partnerships.Since we hit the ground running in January 2022, an astonishing 7.2 million credit card applications have poured in from partners, with about 600,000 lucky applicants getting the thumbs up.Next, I teamed up with the core platform maestros behind Maximus. We embarked on a database optimization odyssey, dissecting orchestrator services for 13 products across 62 journeys, unearthing and eliminating the dead weight. Three products were bogged down with Aadhaar PDF & Photo data in Base64 format, causing unnecessary bulk.I set up CRON jobs to tidy up the collections, slashing their size from a bloated 42.35 GB to a trim 29.28 GB—a staggering 30.86% reduction.For a sharper data storage strategy, I scrutinized 32 MongoDB collections used by 13 common services, adding TTL indexes to six collections for automated data deletion. Nah, it’s not worth the risk—the app will catch you and show you the door faster than you can say "shortcut."With MKCL ERA, learning’s a blast, and you know your accomplishments are the real deal.I created the ERA Helper, a sleek Golang tool that scoops up the screencaps and screen recordings from every learner and beams them to a central server.Once there, ERA Archiver takes over.
