About Pratik Shetty
I was born and raised in Dubai, went to college in Mangalore, and kicked off my professional career in Mumbai where I found my passion for music marketing. My love for music is immense and you’ll never see me step out of the house without a pair of earphones. I truly believe that music is magical, it gives people a safe space, it’s always by your side and I believe it can bring communities together. There is nothing else in the world that can do what music can, and that is beautiful. I started my career at Saavn (now JioSaavn) where I got an opportunity to intern in the content team. Since grabbing on to this internship opportunity more than 7 years ago I eventually went on to lead the Licensed Music and Content Marketing vertical at JioSaavn. My time at JioSaavn was amazing, I had the privilege to work closely with the biggest labels and artists in the industry to market their new releases, I had the opportunity to launch successful social and live IPs, and I got to work with some of the best event promoters and college festivals in the country. In September 2020, in the midst of the coronavirus lockdown, I decided to do a dual MBA from IMT Ghaziabad and Deakin University Australia. In June 2022 I decided that I needed a break to regroup, focus on my MBA and figure out my next chapter. I moved back to Dubai and decided to help my father with his business and implement learnings from my ongoing MBA course. Today, I am working on future-proofing his business by building its digital presence and figuring out potential revenue streams for the business. In this role, I led the licensed and content marketing initiatives at JioSaavn. I led the team that was responsible for all licensed and content partnerships which included liaisoning with artists, managers, and labels like Sony Music, Warner Music, Universal Music, and T-series to plan and execute new release campaigns. My responsibilities included developing growth strategies, working on 360-degree marketing plans, setting objectives, tracking campaign KPIs while managing the content marketing budget and measuring the ROI on these campaigns. I continued to lead the events and college partnerships and was responsible for rebranding the in-house live IP to SoundBound. SoundBound is an experiential IP where we invited superfans to be in an intimate studio setting with their favorite artists, we further scaled the IP by taking it to college festivals and doing club tours with artists across India.

In this role, I was responsible to develop end-to-end strategies for brand, social, new release marketing, and playlist marketing campaigns while leading conversations with external and internal stakeholders. Since I led these projects, I was responsible to set objectives for campaigns and tracking campaigns to ensure KPIs are being met. I continued to lead and build the student ambassador program and drove associations with college festivals across India. I built relations with key event promoters for partnerships and continue to lead and support the Live IP with marketing and liaising with production teams for shows.During this time I was involved in the rebranding of Saavn to JioSaavn post our integration with Jio which is India's largest telco network.
