• Ran an investigative campaign that helped the Alexa Mobile app get to 95% native code from the previous 80%, offering better overall experience to our customers.• Wrote the initial business requirements and design document for the Alexa Mobile Self Service Project, an internal website that allowed changing config files and static assets on the server-side with a few clicks without having to wait for an entire release cycle of the app.• Created Partner Version Sets for a couple of our packages that received high volume of contribution from partner teams, allowing self-serve dry-runs of the change, bringing down the average time for each code review from approximately 20 minutes to a few minutes.• Weblabs are how A/B testing is done at Amazon. I helped reduce technical debt by safely turning off 20+ weblabs for already launched features.• Helped project 2020 Q4 peak traffic for our services and ensured that our dependencies were scaled adequately for the same. No issues were observed during the holiday period.

• Reduced the client-side latency for the customers of the Alexa Mobile App and Website, living in Japan and Australia by 40%. My solution involved adding CDNs (AWS Cloudfront) into the existing architecture in a way that was transparent to the customers. In the new design, the connection terminated closer to the user at Cloudfront edge locations, instead of having to travel all the way across the globe to North America where the servers were.• As a stretch goal, I also implemented caching and delivering of Echo’s First-Run Video through Cloudfront instead of directly fetching it from S3. This allowed faster loading of the video and also proved to be cheaper than the existing procedure.
