Emirates Printing Press (EPP) is one of the biggest company in the field of printing and packaging technology. With product ranging from books and magazines in commercial sector and cartons to flexible in packaging sector, EPP is biggest name in middle east. At EPP, I withheld the post of supervisor in Pre-Press department. Pre-press being the initial step of any printing job is without doubt the most important of all. At EPP, Pre-press department was subdivided into two parts; commercial and packaging, and I was positioned in commercial end of it. Commercial jobs comprises basically of books and magazines, and we were responsible to plan all the stages of all the jobs that came into the house. Working with five mac-operators at tandem to work on the jobs, two color rectifiers, plate making section, proof making section, and various other works had to be taken care of during a shift. Moreover, I had to coordinate with the customer coordinators, production floor including the press and binding department and many a times with the customer as well. I was also responsible to prepare the job status, ISO audit files and look after any emergency maintenance. Aiming at successful execution of all the jobs within time limit was my major objective and I professionally executed all the work that came my way. Initial four months of my probation period I was in packaging finishing department and the management impressed with my performance shifted me to pre-press department to take command with full responsibility after a mere training where I kept the confidence the management showed in me and served my tenure efficiently.
