As a Researcher at Rakuten, dedicated efforts have focused on advancing AI models within the finance domain, specifically targeting short text classification tasks. A key achievement involved developing a Financial BERT model, which surpassed the JLBERT model's accuracy, reaching 91.35% compared to JLBERT's 88.05%. Japanese LLMs, including MISTRAL Japanese, ELYZA-japanese-Llama-2, and Youri, were fine-tuned, achieving a notable 91.05% accuracy.The Genere Classification On-boarding Portal was designed and developed, enabling users to classify merchant names into categories with confidence scores and feedback options. Bulk prediction functionality for batch processing was also added.In collaboration with the Rakathon team, contributed to the “AI Powered E-Commerce Consultant” project, which was shortlisted in the top 100, creating various agents integrated using CrewAI, Langchain, and the OpenAI API. The models and applications developed are now in production, enhancing operational efficiency across Rakuten business units. This internship provided hands-on experience, strengthened problem-solving skills, and deepened expertise in AI technologies, contributing to cutting-edge AI research and development.

Focused efforts on complaint mining in the healthcare domain to enhance patient experience. A dataset of 7.5k reviews was curated through web scraping using BeautifulSoup and human annotation, supported by interns. Multi-label and multi-class classifiers were developed by fine-tuning BERT-based models such as BERT-Base and DistilBERT, achieving an accuracy of 82.95% for binary classification. Additionally, large language models like BioMistral, Falcon, and Zephyr were utilized, with a maximum accuracy of 81.23%. This work significantly improved patient feedback analysis in the healthcare sector.
