Center for Regional Research and Sustainability Studies is a multidisciplinary, non-profit think tank, that undertakes conceptual, empirical and applied research with a motive to improve understanding of scientific and humanities-oriented issues and challenges. Prateek recently joined our team as the Communications and Programs Intern for the spring semester of 2019. He will help coordinate social media and communications, assist with marketing materials, designing presentation, operate email campaigns and assist with events. Prateek is a senior at the University of Cincinnati, majoring in Journalism and International Affairs. Prateek will mark one whole year in May 2019, completing three internships with the World Affairs Council. Prateek has published three research papers focused on immigration and politics in South Asia and is passionate about researching migration and religious politics in Asia and the Middle East. Prateek believes that the power of education and open knowledge will help to create awareness about immigrants and refugees’ current situations. Prateek spent his winter break in his home country of India, where he volunteered for an NGO which teaches kids of underprivileged households. Prateek taught basic English and Math to kids from five to nine years of age. Prateek also got a chance to visit his high school and meeting teachers and students.He has also worked on a couple of documentary movies in India based on Internally displaced people (IDPs) and he hopes to do more work in the field of Immigration and showing them through documentary movies.

My Journey in World affairs council has been so great, filled with new experiences and teaching moments. Listing down some of the main things:- Global Classroom: Managing,organising and also performing several Global Classrooms, Speakers talk about a country, it's culture, music,art and/or lecture on a certain topic centered in an intention perspective. My speaking topics included, Mauritius,India, Indian Migrants, Schools in India. - Video Recording of Global Classroom: I came up with this concept of creating video content of the lectures and programs related to Global Classrooms. This will not only serve the purpose of marketing but will mostly be used as guides for new speakers and also creating awareness about the Global Education program. -Introducing Global Classrooms Checklist: This can be a greatasset for future volunteers for Global Classroom and also others who need informationabout the checklist. This include all necessary data, testimonies from teachers and alsovolunteers and all kinds of information. -The Iraqi Workshop: To me the idea of being with Iraqi students is adventures enough. Igot this amazing chance to teach them Videos editing. Firstly shooting their owninterviews with their partners, then editing them with music and pictures. It was not justteaching but that made me know them better and also understand the Iraqi people andkids more relevantly. It gave me exposure to their culture and also their ideas of ahealthy and prosperous world and also how they see themselves as leaders. I am soproud that I got a chance to lead this activity and with some shakening, it was perfect.

The position required students to contact and interview respondents for a variety of public opinion surveys.
