After a Ph.D. in Computer Science and a 14 year experience as a professor, I left the academic career to be totally focused on the company I founded in 1998: Prosa.Prosa has been on the scene of Italian IT since 1998, undamaged overcoming the crisis of the New Economy of the first years 2000 with important prospects at international level. Surprisingly, all the history has been made by Prosa leveraging only on one's work, without any external financing! All the business has been generated from the small initial financing of the 30 years old charter members in 1998: Alessandro Roncato, Giorgio Saviane and me. The secret of this? Two words: innovation and differentiation. The innovation has been the founding idea of the company, thanks to cultural issues of the charter members, closely related to the academic world. The differentiation has been a natural consequence of the desire to innovate without field boundaries. Such desire carried Prosa to resolve in original ways many problems of various nature and in heterogenous contexts.Since 2007 Prosa has been worldwide leader in IoT for equipment in the Food and Beverages field, hence soft-drink and beer dispensers, bottle coolers, ice-cream freezers and dispensers, espresso coffee machines, and vending machines. The telemetry experience of Prosa has been applied also for Motorbikes.In June 2017 Prosa has been acquired by the Danfoss group, while from November 1st 2018 Prosa has been transformed from an independent legal entity to a completely merged business unit in Danfoss.
