Imaging hardware and software manufacturer using microwave radar for breast cancer detection in dense tissue. ● Turnaround: Team from 4 to 20, desrisked projects £5m+ with Toshiba Medical (Japan) and Agilent Keysight ● Funding: Led £7m fundraise over 2 rounds (VC, UHNW, Angel) with Exec Chair. Won £2.6m in grants. ● IPR: Filed 10 new patents, re-establishing FTO and initiated international pivotal clinical trials.

Gained FDA/ UL-approvals, established international manufacturing and distribution supply chain to over 30 territories for novel laparoscopic surgery devices using high voltage electrostatics, now distributed by Olympus.

• Tasked with identifying public sector funding to mitigate lack of private investment opportunities, raised £1.1m in government and NHS funding• Given slow adoption by intended users, proactively identified new opportunities in tissue classification, reconstructive surgery (facial imaging) and veterinary science, creating new capabilities which led to promotion by KOLs in these fields. Today, the technology is sold into these markets• Supported VC fundraising totalling £3.7m over two rounds• Successfully managed a redundancy process, maintaining key staff and technical momentum while reducing payroll by over half

• Introduced DevOps practices such as continuous integration and virtualization to support rapid parallel development of multiple system components (firmware, hardware and database) which were critical to meeting launch schedule• Sought out government-subsidised training schemes to add resource at no cost to business, thereby bringing forward technical milestones key to obtaining new financing• Pioneered new production processes with sub-contractors in the US and the UK, creating gold standard metrology techniques and new capabilities such as inline, encrypted barcoding for consumable packaging• Gained CE marking including multiple QMS recertifications and obtained approvals from TGA• Created novel C++ 3d imaging libraries including geometric measurement routines

Technical Advisor to: Rolls Royce Plc. (Experimental Vibration, Performance Engineering, Safety and Reliability, Advanced Analytical Methods), McLaren F1 Racing, DS&S (now O-SyS), Jaguar Cars and BAE Systems.Reporting to Professor Lionel Tarassenko (CBE FREng FMedSci MA DPhil CEng FIET), appointed to deliver Oxford’s contribution to two major multi-£m grants awarded to academic-industrial consortia. ● Developed novel machine learning technologies for the Rolls Royce EJ-200, Trent 900, and Trent 1000 engine development programmes based on in-flight “big data” telemetry. ● Promoted the adoption of this technology with McLaren F1 Racing, Jaguar Cars and BAE Systems Successfully concluded both grant-funded projects and transferred development to Oxford BioSignals.

Oxford Biosignals (now OBS Medical) was formed to commercialise technologies for condition monitoring and patient monitoring that had been developed by the Signal Processing and Artificial Neural Networks Research Group at the University of Oxford. Responsible for the technology transfer and industrialization of aero jet engine/ plant diagnostic technology from my University team.Achievements:● Key contributions to the QUICK diagnostic and in-flight monitoring system used by Rolls Royce Plc.● Developed machine learning-based condition monitoring technology for ABB (marine) and Gates (automotive) The technology has since been wholly acquired by Rolls Royce to deliver its “Power by the Hour” fixed-cost maintenance programme for commercial aviation.
