Provided onboarding training to new DHC team members, and led project management training for professional development of team members. Facilitated meetings for client's to move through challenging conversations about organizational structures, interpersonal relationships within the organization, and or program evaluations. Managed a six-person team to complete a civic engagement research project that included the interviewing of over 100 organizers, activist, and policy makers that were involved in 2018 ballot measure campaigns in six states across the US. Managed a 12 person cross-functional team for a national organization for the formal launch of their rebranding (strategic direction) which culminated in a virtual convening for 600 people from their national network that includes organizations across 23 states.Co-managed a 6-person team alongside the Communications Director on a statewide campaign to increase the civic engagement during the state of Oregon's legislative session, which saw a record turnout for public testimony.

Supported planning and coordination of multiple projects and associated activities, which included drafting project budgets, creating project timelines, and tracking all project deliverables. Interfaced with external clients, which included drafting meeting agendas and facilitating check-in calls, and drafting pre- and post-meeting email communications. Highlights were supporting the planning and execution of the first virtual convening for the Movement for Black Lives in August with over 500 people, as well as co-producing the pre-show of The Black National Convention. Designed and launched The Cascade Society, a 5-day immersive training program for organizers in Oregon, accepted the first cohort in the fall of 2019.

Oregon, United States

Co-managed an advocacy campaign to ensure an equitable, accessible, and fair redistricting process for the state of Oregon. Built a coalition of 50 community -based organizations across that state. Created a campaign strategy for community engagement for partner organizations, and developed a redistricting training curriculum. Facilitated a colloaborative space for cross-learning for partners. Assisted the comms team in creating campaign messaging. Built and maintained relationships with elected officials, their representatives, and staff, as well as educated legislators and other policymakers regarding the scope and impact of redistricting issues specifically in BIPOC and LGBTQIA++ communities.

The We Draw Oregon campaign was a state wide campaign focused on increasing the participation of hard-to-count communites in the 2020 census. I led the educational phase of the campaign. Idesigned the curriculum for a census training program, and managed the program that trained over 11,000 people statewide during a pandemic. I managed a team of 12 Community Equity Coordinators, and oversaw the planning and implementation of a series of culturally centered community engagement events, executing seven 100+ in-person events in just seven weeks and then pivoted the large scale culturally - centered community engagement events to virtual events at the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Launched a census ambassador program that centered regular people. Recruited and managed over 100 partners, which included local business, government agencies, and community- based organizations, for the campaign.

Prepared students for the 21st-century world by encouraging students to think and problem-solve while trying to understand the foundations of matter. Created lesson plans that move students through the learning objectives in a scaffolded approach; prepared and delivered lectures; created and supervised scientific inquiry activities for students; evaluated student performance through projects, quizzes, and exams; maintained student records; met with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders.

Synthesized magnetic nanoparticles. Explored how changes in the elemental composition affected the structural and magnetic properties of the nanoparticles. Analyzed the structural properties of the nanoparticles using x-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. Studied the magnetic properties using a SQUID.

While working under the guidance of Dr. Rong He, Worked on determining whether or not serum amyloid A function is mediated by the chemokine receptors, CXCR3 and CCR1.Work required the maintenance of human and E. coli cell lines, as well as the genetic modification of such cell lines using recombinant DNA.

Transfected human epithelial kidney cells with hCXCR3 gene; determined the effect of sodium butyrate on the pre-starvation response in wild-type D. discoideum and the effect sodium butyrate has on Hirano body formation in mutant D. discoideum

Used basic accounting principles to monitor the expenditures from an annual budget. Came up with fundraising ideas to increase the budget. Oversaw the implementation of fundraising initiatives.
