Microbiology • Reception of Microbiology samples• Booking in of samples to LIS• RNA and DNA Purification using Qiasymphony, Maxwell and manual techniques• Amplification of RNA and DNA using different PCR machines• Working with Healthineers and Liaxon XL for Ag/Ab testing• Identification of different fungi causing diseases using various mycologicaltechniques.• Examination of stool, urine, High vaginal swab, Endocervical smear, Semen analysisinfection.• Examination of Genitals, Urine, Wound, Rectal, CSF, blood, tissue samples for diagnosis of bacterial infection• Identification of bacteria by performing gram staining and carrying out biochemical test such as catalase, coagulase, oxidase, urea, indole, sugar metabolism test.• Carrying out sensitivity testing in-line with EUCAST standard• Validation and verification of equipment in line with UKAS standards• Validation and authorization of results in line with specific SOPs• Participating actively in EQA procedures and ensuring required standard are maintain• Actively participating in laboratory meeting, and technical meetings• Reporting incidences and non-conformances through DATIX and Qpulse• Ensures that daily stock inventory is done and individual fridge and room temperature recorded and documented. Hematology• Reception and processing blood samples• Logging daily data of blood paints• Assist in the maintenance and monitoring of laboratory equipment.• Enter patient data into the laboratory information management system (LIMS).• Prepare blood films (thick and thin) slides for clinician review.• Perform basic laboratory tests (complete blood count using sysmex, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, blood group, genotype, transfusion compatibility). Chemical pathology• Glucose analysis• Oral Glucose Tolerance Test• Electrolyte Urea Creatinine estimation• Liver Function Test• Enzyme Linked Immuno solvent assay• Histopathology: tissue fixing and sectioning
