I have been working as a Senior Research Scientist and Associate Professor at PHFI’s Centre for Chronic Conditions & Injuries and Centre for Environmental Health. Overall, I have been involved in scientific research, management, teaching, mentorship and capacity building, and networking to influence policy. I've also been involved in India's GBD Cancer Expert Group and the first-ever state-level disease burden initiative for cancer. I have accumulated over 20 years of experience in various international settings, ranging from large HMO’s such as Kaiser Permanente of Northern California, to Indian cancer registries, to long-standing US cohorts such as the Health Professionals Follow-up Study, and large tertiary care centres in India (eg, All India Institute of Medical Sciences). In addition to research, I’ve collaborated with NGO’s and other organizations, to engage the community to tackle issues around cancer awareness, journalism literacy and environmental health.

Evaluated the association between body mass index, traditional risk factors and the risk of myocardial infarction in the California Men’s Health Cohort.

Predicting high-utilization patients in a health care plan using pharmaceutical, inpatient and outpatient databases and comparisons with existing methods based on diagnostic cost groups.

Conducted various analyses to evaluate family history of esophageal cancer, physical activity on the risk of endometrioma and other research analyses related to case-control studies of cancer.
