Looking for Ph.D. Fellowship in virology. The smallest particle can able to take over the control of their complex host system by its various interaction with the host. This ability of the virus is attractive for me to get interest in the field of Molecular virology especially in the Virus Host interactions and viral disease pathogenesis. Even though I had interest in molecular biology, my experiences and the projects that I have done is on virology hence I feel like we are destined to be together. I was in the White spot syndrome viral project for a year (which I mentioned below) and I thought I need more exposure and knowledge on the human viral disease. Therefore, I have applied and got the positon in Dr.Gulam Hussain Syed lab specialized in my dream studies that is Virus host interaction and molecular virology. It was really a new world for me because since my childhood I never left my home town but my eagerness and keen interest in research made to go all through to the Bhubaneswar which is more than 1500 km from my home town. At first, it was difficult for me to fit there because of unknown language and exposure to the more sophisticated instruments. Soon ever I had become expertise in the techniques like Mammalian cell cultures such as HUH 7, HUH 7.5.1, THP1, Vero, U931 and macrophages. I have learnt Flow cytometry Caliber and LD fortessa and confocal imaging Leica sp6 to study Mitochondrial dynamics in Dengue and Hepatitis C Viral infection though various assays like mitochondrial potential, transition pore, mass and apoptosis. I got deeper understanding of virus life cycles, its interaction in the host physiological process such as mitophagy, autophagy and protein secretion though western blotting, immunoprecipitation and real time gene expression techniques. Since the pathogenesis of Dengue (Serotypes 1, 2, 3, 4) is based on the unregulated inflammatory response, we studied NLRP3 mediated inflammasome in the ASC GFP THP I cells in both monocytes and macrophages. My passion has increased when I learnt more about the HCV interaction with the host lipoproteins and now it is my favorite one. I also observed the behavior of each serotypes of dengue in terms of their infectivity, virulence and replicability, which shows that each one is unique and has its own mechanism. I perished every experiences I had in this field and decided to undergo my Ph.D in the field of molecular virology and virus host interaction studies.
