Prem is currently a postdoctoral research assistant at Boeing Prof. Stuart's group at RMIT, Australia. As a recipient of the prestigious AcSIR-RMIT dual degree research program between India and Australia, he has focused on improving the processability of thermoplastic polyimide and the functional properties of poly(lactic acid) for fused filament fabrication 3D printing. His work facilitates the scalable production of functional polymers, advancing innovation in complex-shaped smart applications, particularly in fluorescence-based sensors. Leading a research team of three members (two masters and one PhD), he is dedicated to 3D printing high-performance polymers for thermal protection systems. He is also teaching subjects like, Machines & Materials to undergrads. His expertise includes biopolymer-based nanocomposite materials, covering synthesis and characterization, thermal and thermomechanical properties, rheological and morphological properties, structure-property relationships, nanocellulose reinforced composites, electrospinning, and additive manufacturing. He has authored/co-authored several peer-reviewed publications, with his research aimed at promoting sustainable and affordable living for all.
