I'm responsible for technical facilities in two ports at Qatar.

Presently I am placed in Top management as Head-Engineering of a port in Gujarat. Responsible for all techno-commercial activities, overseeing Mechanical, civil and Electrical Project implementation of a Rs.500 crores Port expansion project, managing various Service-Centers, Plant & Equipments, Quay Cranes, conveyors, material handling machinery, transportation, support to visiting vessels and port Marine department. Additionally I am managing a 220 KV station with all its transmission/distribution system.My key role is managing the techno-commercial aspects of all maintenance, repair and projects. I prepare the Engineering teams annual budget with emphasis on a healthy cost saving to the P&L bottom line. In the past one year I managed to reduce cost by over 50% without diluting maintenance standards.I've successfully influenced expansion decisions of all port machinery, spares planning and vendor/contractor management.; Was accountable for efficient and smooth administration and maintenance/operation of fleet vessels in the most cost effective manner, including planning, controlling, monitoring and executing technical projects. Successfully improved the overall profitability of operations and strategic utilization of resources Carried out dual role of Chief of Logistics and was responsible for installation and training personnel on use of in-house developed ERP software. Sailed in foreign company vessels; managed operations and maintenance of highly automated power plants and ancillary equipments. Interacted with Port state control authorities and flag state officials on issues related with international marine statutory functions. Ensured efficient operations of vessels with optimum utilization of resources to achieve a healthy profit margin for the organization. Evolved troubleshooting procedures, inventory control methods and improved operational thresholds to enable maintenance of all electronic, marine, telecom & IT equipment and reduced equipment down time.

As Manager Aircraft Project raised an (INR 800 crores) aircraft squadron, including induction of technical facilities from U.S.S.R. Was responsible for timely construction of aircraft hangers, dispersals and technical workshop facilities. Job specifications required project monitoring, project resources management, liaisoning with foreign vendors for timely installation of equipment and machineries, overseeing contractors work, testing/inspection of installed facilities like standby power generating equipments and HVAC systems. Project executed within budget in record time. Supervised commissioning activities and ensured prudent commissioning practices. Carried out technology transfer from EPC contractor/ Main plant equipment manufacturers, reviewed design and equipment technical data from OEM manuals for the O&M perspective. Participated in progress review and construction review meeting and furnished relevant technical inputs.
