Since the first website I created, in 1999, I have kept learning and employing new web technologies, with an increasing focus on web applications - interactive websites and other web-connected interfaces.As a JavaScript programmer, I have written code for high traffic websites, such as Dharmafly's web apps for BBC World Service, and created a number of open source tools, like Pablo, a JavaScript library for creating interactive graphics with SVG ( http://pablojs.com ).I work with both organisations and individuals, taking on whole projects or complementing an existing team.Open source code:https://github.com/premasagarhttps://github.com/dharmafly

I have always sought to balance my creative instincts as a maker with my desire to teach others.I co-created and taught "Coding For Humans", a series of workshops to learn how to create web apps and websites with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. http://L4RP.com/codingforhumans/I've helped companies develop their technical capabilities, published articles on new technology, established community-led teaching events like Async and the Wild School, and have spoken at web technology events.

In 2007, I co-created the company Dharmafly, a social design and web software company based in Brighton, UK.Dharmafly was born of the intention to harness this new medium, the Web, for good works in the world. We've helped organisations explore new opportunities with web technology, advocated for open source and open data, and supported the wider community by establishing city-based projects and events.The company began by creating content-focussed websites for companies and charities, facilitated by a process to uncover and develop the brand language and user experience required. We evolved by honing in on the growing need for specialist web applications and the creative and technical disciplines they demand.In the same way as a film production company, Dharmafly is a network of creative and technical freelancers who group together around a project. We've won awards for our work and have created products for the BBC, The Guardian, the Science Museum and social enterprises like Participle.For each project, I assemble and manage the team of designers and engineers, and handle the full lifecycle of products, from conception to completion. I created Async in 2010. It's a twice-monthly developer meetup in Brighton with a focus on JavaScript and related technologies. Async has seen a remarkable input from the community, with local and visiting speakers sharing their technical discoveries and passions.http://asyncjs.com

In 2012, I started the "Lab for the Recently Possible"​ in Hove, moving later to Brighton's North Laine. The role of the Lab is as a space to enable and inspire, bringing together an excellent hotch-potch of people, ideas and creations at the edge of their field. Over several years, I have volunteered as a mentor and participant for Rewired State, which champions grassroots citizenship and engagement through technical and creative "hack" events. Participants create prototype products and services to solve problems in government and other organisations.At the annual Young Rewired State, a national network of teenagers takes part in an intensive week to develop ideas, learn computer programming and produce a prototype to be demoed to industry professionals and their peers.http://dharmafly.com/youngrewiredstate

I established and ran a centre in Manchester for personal and community development. Through a team of volunteers, we organised local multi-cultural concerts, created a platform for local artists, taught classes and organised events.
