Prerana is an experienced and highly driven professional with over 25 years of experience in technology innovation, entrepreneurship, strategic investing, and advising. She is an investor in and strategic advisor to multiple startups. Her breadth and depth in technology, corporate finance, business development and investment experience have been instrumental in helping many businesses thrive and succeed. She has worked for several years as an advisor to small technology companies, helping them with early-stage growth, go-to-market strategies and funding. As an investment banker at UBS, Prerana has worked with many notable technology and telecom software/services CXOs and has a strong strategic advisory and financing transaction experience structuring complex, large-size transactions. Prior to that, she spent many years in the Business Development Group at Philips Electronics, working with its product divisions across Europe.As an education entrepreneur she has founded a non-profit and a for-profit organization. Over the past few years, she has helped launch, grow and scale ‘Kidizens’ – a LEGO-based enrichment program that leverages a city- and community-building framework to experientially teach civic and economic concepts to children. Prerana is currently the ambassador for Magic Bus USA – helping grow its SF Bay area chapter and empowering underprivileged youth in her hometown in Indore, by taking them on an engaging sports-based journey to complete education and gain life and vocational skills. In addition, Prerana serves on the board of another Bay area non-profit and has been advising non-profits with fundraising and corporate outreach. She is passionate about the revolutionary, open source technologies that are helping the digital economy revolution and enabling financial inclusion in India and is actively working towards helping their adoption in the global market. These technologies are a large part of her current investment thesis as they stand to level the playing field for many companies in the lower-tier markets in India.
