Security is about trust, both earning and keeping - and securing technology requires trust between humans. I study uncertainty, specifically, how technology reshapes the landscape of international security. My passion is weaving networks of people and building communities to minimize strategic surprise. To stay abreast of extant (terrorism, cybercrime) and emergent (disinformation, deepfakes) threats, for example, I cultivate a heterogeneous, wide network of individuals and ideas. I enjoy geeking out about analytics + analysis, geopolitics + politics, and technology + methodology. Also, I continue to study negotiation, strategy, complexity, diversity, and communication; I am here to learn. In work culture, I value humor, inclusion, and psychological safety (yes, they can co-exist). In both my professional and personal capacity, I prize and promote community, diversity, and service. I have lived in New Delhi, Johannesburg, San Francisco, New York, DC, and Boston, and worked on projects in London, Melbourne, Monrovia, Bangkok, and Göteborg. My dream job title is "Chief Uncertainty Officer." My favorite form of procrastination is reading about productivity.
