First as an intern with Daniels-Wingerak Engineering in 2006, Michael designed heating, cooling and ventilation systems for buildings. In 2013, Michael started Bright Buildings to support the Passivhaus standard, a universal sustainable building standard leading to 90% space heating energy savings.Michael is a founder of Radiance Cohousing. The collaborative, 9-unit housing development is designed to meet the Passivhaus standard. Radiance features R60 wall insulation, airtight construction and excellent ventilation among other sustainability features such as permaculture landscaping, a 40 kW solar array and rainwater harvesting.https://youtu.be/7Xwo6xXKi4QMichael delivers Passivhaus training to building professionals in western Canada as an instructor with Passive House Canada.Michael is a former vice-president of the SES Solar Co-operative, a community solar developer in Saskatchewan.
