This project is currently participating in the 2022 Climate Reality Project Incubator, and will receive $3,000 and mentorship from the World Economic Forum beginning in mid-July 2022. The Child Life Program was established to help children and families cope with the stress and anxiety of hospitalization. Child Life Specialists at UF Health Shands Children's Hospital are certified professionals who work in partnership with families, doctors, nurses, and other caregivers to meet the unique emotional and developmental needs of children and families. We primarily operated within the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. My abilities as a listener and communicator were pushed to their limits as I interacted and provided encouragement/support for children often times experiencing some of the worst days of their lives. I made thousands of deli subs for hungry Publix patrons. Other deli-related tasks included, but were not limited to, slicing meat and cheese, frying chicken, and stocking the deli section of the store.

My job was to lead and coordinate the day-to-day events, and to act as liaison between the Project Coordinators (one in each location) and the “church planters”

I was responsible for leading the drumline and percussion ensemble. I coordinated practice, helped train and educate the members, and participated in writing the music for the halftime show. I reported directly to the Band Director.
