Career Objectives: Design Engineering Management, Product Development Program Manager/ Project Manager. For the last 12 years I have managed multidisciplinary engineering product design teams and was the project manager for a variety of new products. These products include portable ventilator, pulse oximetry, defibrillator, home-arrest RF products including voice recognition in a breathalyzer, spread spectrum frequency hoping RF security products as well as software applications including building automation and real-time Home Arrest monitoring. I worked closely with Marketing and Sales on new product concepts and met with customers on new product ideas. Hired design engineers to bring the product through the design process and release to production. Help production developing vendors of custom parts and the manufacturing process. My responsibilities also included project management.

Product Development Project ManagerEncision Inc. Dec 2012 - May 2013Boulder, CoEncision designs, develops, manufactures and markets innovative electrosurgical instruments and laparoscopic surgical devices that optimize patient safety during a broad range of surgical procedures. These devices utilize active electrode monitoring to protect patients from stray electrical burns outside the surgeon’s field of view. I led the product development team in developing the next generation laparoscopic surgical device. This included miniaturizing the electronics and putting them into a battery powered, one-time-use disposable product. The team was made up of mechanical, electrical and manufacturing engineers. It also included purchasing, marketing, and regulatory. I worked directly with an outside industrial design firm, hired engineering contractors with expertise we did not have internally, identified the sterilization process that was compatible with this design, researched and helped select a contract manufacturer to build the PBCA and In-Circuit test it as well as perform final assembly and final test. I made regular presentations to upper management and was asked to make a presentation to the board of directors. -

I provided project management for various design projects, managing teams of design engineers. The teams typically include mechanical, electrical and software engineers. The projects include a next generation home dialysis system with patented water purification technologies, a pharmaceutical test fixture project for a device that precisely meters up to 24 liquids into a single IV bag and developed an engineering development kit for pulse oximetry. For requirements tracing I used DOORS from Rational. I lead the weekly team meetings that include the lead design engineers and the customer. Create the team meeting agendas, meeting minutes and monthly reports to the customer identifying progress to milestones and status to budget. For these projects I wrote the proposals and presented them to the customers. -

Participated with Marketing and Sales on new product concepts. Put in place company wide Product Development Process.
