Hello, my name is Preston Sheets, and I am an Alumni of The Ohio State University and Cornell University. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Agriculture at Ohio State, and I received a master’s degree in Dairy Business Management at Cornell University. I am originally from Cortland, Ohio, which is located in the Northeast portion of the state. All my life I have worked on my families row crop farm. Along with grain production, I have completed two internships with international companies. My first internship experience was with the John Deere Company working as a marketing representative for small grains production in Olathe, Kansas. My second internship experience was with Select Sires Inc. working as a marketing intern with dairy sire selection in Plain City, Ohio. Through my work experiences I have gained valuable experience in production agriculture, dairy farming, and agricultural marketing on a global scale. In my spare time I have worked as a professional dairy cattle fitter, as well as being an owner of successful cattle. I have experienced great success in this industry working with numerous winners and All-American animals. Throughout these years I have learned valuable lessons in responsibility and worth ethic. At Ohio State I was a member of multiple clubs that helped me develop leadership, communication, and time-management skills. Some of these clubs included The Ohio State University Dairy Judging Team and Delta Theta Sigma Fraternity Alpha chapter. Moving forward I hope to utilize my past experiences and skills to pursue a career in the dairy cattle genetics industry to help farmers receive the best possible products for their animals.
